Modular XYZ Gantry Architecture
Work envelope, axis layout, and toolhead are all selected per unit — the frame doesn't change when the task does.
A Technodune Hardware Product
Built for teams and students working with AIoT and AI-led manufacturing on the edge. One reconfigurable frame carries different machine architectures, drive systems, kinematics, and controllers, so the same unit adapts as the work changes.
One configuration built on this frame: a large laser engraver. Not a fixed specification - selections are made per unit.
Drag to rotate. Ctrl + scroll or pinch to zoom. Right-drag to pan. Drag to rotate. Pinch to zoom.
Four subsystems define what the platform can be configured to do.
Work envelope, axis layout, and toolhead are all selected per unit — the frame doesn't change when the task does.
A magnetic-mechanical coupling for toolheads. Operational modes are exchanged on the same frame without recalibrating the machine between them.
Interchangeable toolheads covering high-temperature FDM extrusion, CNC spindles, pneumatic pick-and-place, and laser ablation.
Onboard processing for diagnostics and closed-loop feedback, with IIoT protocol integration for connecting into AIoT and edge-AI systems.
Deskfab is built to order, not sold off a fixed spec sheet. The work envelope, machine architecture, drive system, kinematic layout, controller, and processor are all selected per unit. The sections below are the options, not a fixed configuration.
Machine size and axis layout are set per unit, so the frame is sized to the task rather than the task being sized to a fixed machine.
Toolheads exchange on the same frame through the quick-swap interface, so one unit can move between processes instead of being built for a single one.
Each subsystem is specified independently. Selections are made per unit.
Move robotics and edge-AI algorithms from simulation onto physical hardware, as a test platform for machine learning models and kinematics work.
Deploy identical units across a lab so exercises stay reproducible between students and cohorts, without industrial-scale equipment.
Students work with the same hardware interfaces, telemetry, and IIoT protocols used in AIoT and edge-AI manufacturing systems.
Prototype AIoT and edge-AI manufacturing workflows on a desktop footprint, before committing to full-scale capital equipment.
Run digital twin synchronization and rehearse manufacturing processes in a controlled environment before shop-floor integration.
An open API and modular hardware let Deskfab interface with existing ERP and MES stacks, so a unit can operate as a node in a larger AIoT deployment.
Deskfab is designed and built by Technodune. Configurations are specified per unit.
